Can You Really Scuba Dive with Contact Lenses? 👁️🫧
Yes, you can! 😄 Many divers use soft contact lenses while diving, and they work just fine under most conditions. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind:
Avoid opening your eyes underwater without a mask — saltwater or chlorinated pool water can cause irritation or even wash away your lenses 😵
Soft lenses are preferable because they allow for some gas exchange and tend to adhere better to your eyes under pressure
Daily disposables are ideal for divers to reduce the risk of infections or salt build-up
